HPEC (Health and Physical Education Council)

Sian presented at the HPEC (Health and Physical Education Council) conference in Banff in 2009
The main focus of the presentation was:

  • Netball Alberta and its aims and goals predominantly through the school/education system,
  • A brief history of the game, explanation/demonstration of the game (including basic rules, court set up, positions, equipment needed etc),
  • Who/what and how the sport caters for,
  • How we incorporate the game into schools currently, the opportunities arising from involvement and where to from here (future aims/goals etc).

The attendees were also involved in a Game Sense model game to incorporate some of the main rules/concepts and
experience the game in a more physical sense.
