Calgary Fall & Winter League Information

The first half of this League starts in the Fall, running from mid-September through to mid-December, with a Fall tournament held in November. The League breaks over the Christmas holidays and the second half resumes as the Winter League beginning in January and finishes in March. A tournament concludes the end of this season in March.

Junior League

The Junior League  is made up of two divisions, Junior B (U12) and Junior A (U16). These age divisions are guidelines only and players may be assigned to a different division based on their ability.

We ask that you register your child in their age division or the level they played last year.

Junior B (U12) - ages 9 to 11, boys and girls - Early Bird Fee $280.00 (After Aug. 19, $290.00)

  • 18 weeks, Sept. 30 - Dec. 9, 2018 and Jan. 13 - Mar. 17, 2019
  • One game and one training per week.
    (No games Oct. 7, Nov. 11 or 25, & Feb. 17)

Sept 9 - Junior B meet and greet (Mandatory) - 6:00 - 7:30 pm Cardel Court, Cardel Rec South (333 Shawville Blvd SE #100, Calgary

Uniform: Players wear own white t-shirt & black shorts (no skirt deposit required).

 

Junior A (U16 - ages 12 to 15, boys and girls - Early Bird Fee $290.00 (After Aug. 19, $300.00)

  • 16 weeks, Sept. 30 - Dec. 9, 2018 and Jan. 13 - Mar. 10, 2019
  • One game and one training per week.

Junior A Evaluations (Mandatory):

Sept 16 5:00 -6:30 pm at Southland Leisure Centre (2000 Southland Dr SW, Calgary, AB T2V 4S4)

Sept 23 5:00 - 6:30 pm at Southland Leisure Centre

Uniform: Female players will be allocated a team skirt (for which a $50 skirt deposit will be required). Wear with a  white t-shirt. Boys wear black shorts and a white t-shirt.

 

2018/2019 Senior League

The Calgary Senior League is made up of Senior A & Senior B divisions and the Youth Development Squad.

Senior A & B League - - Early Bird Fee $325.00 (After Aug. 19, $340)

  • Includes one game a week for a total of  18 weeks, Sept. 23 - Dec. 9, 2018 and Jan. 6 - Mar. 10, 2019
    (No games Oct. 7, Nov. 11 or 25, & Feb. 17)
  • Tournament  in November and March. 
  • Senior A games are at Southland on Sundays between 7:00 - 10:00 pm.
  • Senior B games are at Southland on Sundays between 7:00 - 10:00 pm OR at Vivo on Wednesdays between 8:30 - 9:30 pm.

Senior Evaluations (Mandatory for New to Netball Alberta players):

Senior players pay additional fees for Training Programs, to be advised and collected when the Training Program starts.
 

Youth Development Squadby invitation only - Fee $200.00

  • This program is our youth elite training group. They train twice a week September to December, once a week January to March. Changes may be made to the program this year, to be announced by Sept 2018. See Senior and YDS Training page for details.
  • YDS will register in the appropriate Senior League for their weekly games.

 

Adults not sure where to register:

  • If you have never participated in the Fall/Winter League through Netball Alberta (even if you participated in Spring League), you must register as a New to Netball Alberta player and attend the evaluations.
     
  • Intro to Netball participants can register directly into the Senior B league
     
  • It is advised that all registrants invited to evaluations attend, to help in fair and competitive team selections. After your are evaluated, you will be moved into the appropriate division.

League Sub Rules

A registered player assigned to a team can sub in four games between September and December and four games between January and March. No more than 8 games total for the season. Senior B may sub for Senior A but not Senior A for Senior B.

A casual player must be registered in SI Play and acknowledged by their league coordinator before subbing in the league. These players are able to sub in up to three games for each of the same periods mentioned above, for a drop in fee of $10 per game. If they would like to play in more games than that, they must pay a pro-rated registration fee for the remainder of the year.
