Netball Alberta is always thrilled to come into schools to teach netball but ideally, we would like to have schools running their own netball programs within their phys ed curriculum. Our ultimate goal is to have inter and intra mural programs in schools. To achieve this, we need teachers to be knowledgeable and feel confident in instructing their students in the sport. To this end, we have developed various resources to support teachers in their development.
Netball Alberta has developed a detailed Teachers Resource document which is made to complement an introductory school clinic. It is free to download and the link is below.
This particular resource will introduce teachers to the basic rules, history, equipment requirements, and positional allocations of netball as well as provide several drills and games that can be combined together to create different session plans to improve student performance in six categories of netball skill.
The aim of this resource is for teachers to implement the sessions with their students, giving them the skills, knowledge and ability to understand and teach the sport of netball.
