Alberta Netball Association is looking for the following positions to complete its Executive Board to support its mission for the upcoming year. Our mission is to be leaders committed to promoting, facilitating and supporting programs that foster the advancement of our netball community.

- Assists the president in all areas

- Stands in for President when they are unable to attend to A.N.A business

SECRETARY

Overview
- Takes care of organizing and chronicling executive meetings
Duties
- Attends executive meetings
- Types up an agenda and distributes it with the minutes of the previous meeting to the executive in a timely manner before the executive meeting, the AGM, and any other special meetings called
- Records the minutes for executive meetings and the AGM (or organizes a suitable replacement) and uploads to Google Docs. Maintains Master Copy
- Advises the President if the motion is unclear or needs to be voted on before moving to the next topic
- Ensures corrections to the minutes are recorded and that the executive is advised of the correction/s at the following meeting
- Records tabled motions and brings them to the President’s attention on the appropriate date
- Maintains a master binder with minutes from all executive meetings and executive list to be passed on to the President for filling in A.N.A. master files at the conclusion of the fiscal year
- Ensures that AGM folder containing: previous year’s minutes, Executive reports, Financial Statement, attendance record is available at the AGM
- Deals with all correspondence relating to the position
- Updates this list of responsibilities to make it more specific

Overview
- Oversees all aspects of N.A. finances
Duties
- Attends monthly Executive meeting, and provides a monthly report on the financial state of the organization
- Provides financial recommendations to the Executive
- Acts as a signing authority on cheques
- Maintain online accounting software, Quickbooks
- Reconciles bank statement on a monthly basis.
- Prepare all year end financials for annual audit and AGM
- Assists in preparing the annual budget
- Prepares Financial report for submission to AGLC
- Processes payroll for employees

- Submits tax forms to Revenue Canada
- Submits payroll taxes to Revenue Canada related to NA employees
Requirements
- Must be a Landed Immigrant or Canadian Citizen
- Must hold an accounting designation
- Committed to volunteering up to 10 hours per month

MARKETING DIRECTOR

- Oversees all aspects of A.N.A. Marketing
Duties
- Attends executive meetings providing a verbal and written report on the activity of this portfolio for the AGM
- Assists with seeking out sponsors and opportunities to market Netball Alberta in the press, TV & radio and all media outlets
- Communicates regularly with the Netball Alberta webmaster to update the Schedule of Events, list of sponsors and other relevant information available online
- Approaches radio stations to advertise the Netball league and special events
- Keeps a record of all contacts, dates, letters and replies. Keeps samples of advertising
- Creates and distributes ANA newsletter through registration software
- Updates this list of responsibilities to make it more specific

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
Overview:
Is responsible for the governance relating to the Rules of Netball as determined by World Netball and affiliates. The Technical Director will liaise with Satellite clubs overseeing all aspects of the rules of netball and ensuring that Satellite Clubs are current in their knowledge and implementation of the rules. The ideal candidate must have an in depth understanding of the sport of Netball.

● Maintain and disseminate current records of rule changes as determined by World Netball and affiliates
● Attend, provide a report, or respond to matters arising from Netball Canada quarterly Technical Meetings
● Attend and report at the Netball Canada Annual General Meeting
● reporting and updating as applicable any rule changes received from World Netball and affiliates
● Attend monthly or Bi-monthly Executive meetings as necessary
● Maintain a database of qualified umpires and assessments throughout the Province of Alberta
● Ensure Satellite clubs have access to rules
● Facilitate development clinics and/or workshops as necessary
● Provide support to all coaching staff/volunteers in relation to rule changes and application of rules
● Maintain an accurate database record of all qualified umpires throughout the Province of Alberta
● Develop a succession plan for umpires
● May be required to attend, provide a report, or respond to matters arising from Netball Canada’s National Technical Meeting
● Provide guidance and direction to all volunteers when ANA host Provincial Tournaments
● Research and apply for funding grants to facilitate the development of Coaches and Umpires

- Able to attend a minimum of 8 meetings per calendar year
- Vulnerable Sector check (within the last 6 months)
- Committed to volunteering up to 10 hours per month
- Minimum one-year term
- Board of Directors experience and working with a non-profit an asset
