Netball Alberta is sad to report that Rachel Pasek, our Development Officer since 2013, will be moving on. We are excited about her the new opportunity she is taking, and are grateful that we have had her on our team over the last few years.
Rachel has been a true netball advocate, teaching thousands of children all over Alberta and recruiting many of our Junior players. Her passion, organization and dedication has resulted in almost 10,000 children learning netball last year, almost quadrupling the number from the year she started!
Rachel has also been the driving force behind our "Netball Equipment To Schools" (NETS) program. Thanks to her determination and the relationships she has built with schools, we will have 23 schools with equipment by the end of 2018. This program is vital to the growth of our sport in Alberta and Rachel has made it a success, as shown by the growth and popularity of our Inter-school Tournament, also organized by Rachel. This tournament would not be possible if the schools did not have equipment in-house. It has grown from 7 teams in 2015 to 15 teams this year, plus a Junior High Tournament that was hosted by a school!
This is a huge testament to Rachel's fantastic success.
Netball Alberta would like to thank Rachel for all her hard work and we wish her luck in her future endeavors but we hope to still see a lot of her on the court as a player and a coach in the years to come.
