ANA YOUTH NETBALL 

Information

Netball is a fast, fun, inclusive sport. It is an invasion game, and the objective of the game is to score goals by throwing a ball through the netball hoop, whilst preventing the opposing team from doing the same.

No previous netball experience is necessary and no special equipment is needed, just dress for sports and bring a water bottle. Our coaches are qualified, experienced and passionate about netball. 

WHERE: Southland Leisure Centre.

WHEN: Sunday evenings, 5pm-6pm.
​Sept 24th , Oct 1st, 15th, 22nd & 29th Oct, Nov 5th Nov, 19th & 26th Dec 3rd &10th. (Please refer to calendar).

WHO: Anyone between the ages of 9 and 14.

PRICE: Registration is $150* for fall.

*Annual registration
of $25 is required to be a member of  Alberta Netball Association, this is an annual fee and is valid Sept 1st, 2023 to Aug 31st, 2024.

How to sign up

All registrations are processed through TeamLinkt, register as a member of Alberta Netball Association if registering for the first time as of Sept 2023.

Netball Rules

  1. You can not travel/footwork, when in possession of the ball, once in possession you can not hold the ball for more than three seconds.
  2. Netball is a non-contact sport. You cannot touch a player or the ball when another player is in possession of the ball.
  3. To defend a player in possession of the ball you must stand 3 feet / 0.9m away from the person with the ball.
  4. The court is divided into 3 sections, and each playing position has a specific playing area on the court. If a player moves into an area where they are not allowed to enter, they are deemed to be off-side.
  5. A goal can only be scored from within the goal circle, and 1 point is scored per goal.
