The Elite Development Pathway
The Elite Development Pathway is an opportunity for players to engage in consistent, high-level coaching, trial for representative teams, and compete across Canada and internationally. Netball Alberta typically supports provincial teams in the following divisions: U16, U18, U21, U23, Open Ladies, Men.

Alberta U21 Team
Trials for the Alberta U21 Netball Team will take place on Saturday, June 8 from 4:00–5:00 PM at Southland Leisure Centre in Calgary. This team will compete at the Stampede Showdown Tournament on July 5–6, 2025.
Eligible athletes include all players aged 21 and under or those who have participated in the YDS program in the past year. The trial will include skills, drills, and short gameplay quarters. Players should be prepared to play their top two positions and may be asked to support in others by playing out of position.

Alberta Open Squad
The Alberta Open Squad is a training squad for adult players looking to play elite netball. The squad is currently training out of Calgary. For inquiries into the program, please contact Head Coach Jenny Hawker at [email protected].
Youth Development Squad
The Youth Development Squad (YDS) is a training squad for players aged 13 - 21 who are interested in pursuing an elite level of netball and playing on Alberta's representative teams. Provincial teams in the U16 - U21 age divisions are named out of this squad through a trial process.
