School Sports Instructor - Casual
We are looking for a stand out youth instructor to run our school based Netball Clinics that have been scheduled for the next school year. The role provides introductory level instruction to students on the rules of netball in an active, enthusiastic, and appealing manner to garner interest in ANA’s league offerings and inter-school activities - with emphasis on skill development and active participation in a safe and enjoyable environment.
The school clinic schedule is during school hours Monday to Friday with dates of work known well in advance. School clinics held predominately in Calgary, with some being around the province. There may be additional hours when not completing school clinics for administrative responsibilities.
About you:
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm, passion and energy for youth being involved in team sports.
  • Ability to learn the sport of Netball.
  • Experience of working with youth, ideally in instruction based settings.
  • Well-developed communication skills, and demonstrated ability to connect with schools employee and youth.
  • A high level of self-motivation and initiative, including the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong time management, communication and organizational skills.
  • Vulnerable sector clearance check (can be completed once position offered).
  • Current government issue class 5 drivers license.

Additional Preferred Attributes:
  • Working with a volunteer board, or with a minor sports association.
  • Vehicle in good working order with capacity to carry collapsible netball posts and equipment bag.
  • Coaching accreditation with experience in youth programming.
  • Current First Aid certification.
